We had the room setup as usual.
Liz did the opening prayer at 7.40pm and asked the question...
'Why should spiritual development be important for a medium and what do we understand by spiritual development for a medium. I ask this because in a workshop with David Thompson he asked the students what the most important quality for a medium is and nobody gave the answer he was looking for so he told us it was spiritual development. So, could you elucidate on that, why that should be so important and what it means and how a medium might expect to develop spiritually, whether that means within the circle or in another pathway concurrent with the circle'
Liz then turned out the light and put the music on...
For the next 45 minutes I drifted in and out of sleep and at one point as I was waking up I dreamt that a ring was being put on the forefinger of my left hand and when I woke that hand was shaking.
I started to be controlled and Liz turned down the music...
'Good evening, good evening...'
Liz... 'Good evening and welcome friend'
'Once again we come into your room and bring our voice into your room, give you words to think about. The question of spiritual development when speaking of mediums... there is much more to the development of mediumship, mediumship is available to all, mediumship is a natural process, mediumship is opened up when the thoughts of the physical mind are expanded. You all live in your physical world gaining experience, mingling with one another, facing choices, facing questions, questioning yourself. You have a long way to go, you have only just arrived, you are comparing yourself with all those who you meet. You see good in your world and you see darkness in your world, you are bombarded each day with situations that represent love and represent darkness. You have to work your way through your life using that inner being to guide you through. An inner being that is evolving, is developing, yet you have the choices, you allow that inner being to evolve or devolve. The vast majority have no interest in the development of mediumship yet they can become spiritually developed, they can raise their vibrations. There is a path available to all, a path of spiritual development. The question of mediumship applies to few, it is seen as a way to understand that what you are connected to. Mediumship is the developer of a larger ability to sense, to sense that what you are a part of yet cannot fully understand. If you have developed your own spiritual understanding then that mediumship development has a stronger link to that what is not understood. You are all using mediumship each day of your life for it is a natural part of yourself. You are not totally physical and you can use that spiritual part of yourself to communicate with one another on a different level. As you grow, as you develop, as you move towards love, as you feel the need to be more loving, to care for others, to put aside yourself and reach out to those who you can help, as you do this you are becoming more complete, you are not just one small part you are many parts. By becoming more complete you have the understanding, you have reached out into that what you do not fully understand, you have made connections, you are touching the spiritual world, your mediumship will become more accurately presented'
Liz... 'Can you explain that?'
'Work only with love and you will become that love that surrounds you, that you wish to understand. You will no longer restrict yourself for you have become one with that what you are reaching out to. We are a part of you once you have understood the totality of yourself. There are many reasons why each individual wishes to become a medium. The most important reason is to share, is to share your love, is to create more love, is to raise yourself above all things, engage with all of life. Open your eyes to see how you are connected with all of life, nothing can stand in your way. A life without love is a restricted life, is a life unable to live. Life is love. When you develop mediumship you are developing love, developing the ability to be love. The details of the structures of life will not matter to you for you are all of life, all of existence'
Liz... 'So are you saying this development is the same as developing understanding? That spiritual development is developing understanding of love?'
'Spiritual development is the reaching out to all who share your life with love and understanding. Understanding the way each individual is working their own way in a world full of obstacles and diversions. You will wish to help, you will want to hold out your hand to those who struggle yet at the same time you will understand their struggle, you will understand why they struggle and you will understand that they are merely working their way through life, working their way to a greater understanding on a never-ending path'
Liz... 'Can mediums develop spiritually with greater understanding within a circle?'
'Within the circle the physical world disappears. Within the circle the ability to understand the love within yourself, this ability is heightened. When you sit in your circle you allow yourself to join with us, you feel how we feel and for a brief moment in time you share our understanding but you have to return to your physical world yet each time you retain a part of that understanding and this will motivate you. It will make you want to learn more, you will begin to feel emotions in your daily life, unexplained emotions and you will think, it will give you something to think about. As mediumship is developed stronger connections are made, connections which can contain feelings and emotions. You are opening yourself up to different levels of existence, levels you do not fully understand yet you will feel the emotions that exist within those levels. You will begin to understand and you will begin to recognise that what you have experienced in your circle whilst living your physical life. True mediumship is connection, true mediumship is understanding that connection, understanding the part you play and the parts that those who surround you also play in your life'

'You have experienced many mediums in your lifetime and you have seen the difference, you have seen how some create upliftment to those who listen and observe and you have seen those who work on a more Earthly level. They too are playing their part, they are reaching out to those who have similar interests, similar stages of growth that resonate with one another. They are learning and they are ready to move to the next level. All forms of mediumship have their place in a physical world and all individuals within that physical world will connect to that what is suitable to their growth at this point in time. There is no end to the understandings available to all. Rejoice that you have reached the stage you have reached and rejoice that you have much more to learn and to understand and the love that supports you in your understandings... Thank you my dear friend, we have reached the end of our session this evening. We will draw back and leave you to ponder the answers we have given to you. As always use your intelligence, accept that what is acceptable to you and what stirs your mind for it is your responsibility to develop yourself. Our words are merely signposts to further understandings, they will create more questions in your mind for it is better to question than to receive the answer. You already have that answer, you merely need to remember. As always take from us a piece of our love, take it out into your world, spread it amongst all who you meet.
